About Nancy

If life's challenges feel overwhelming, are causing you pain, have you feeling stuck or off balance; I would like to help. I provide a warm, friendly, and nonjudgmental environment that fosters healing, change, and personal growth.

I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, and children who have experienced trauma or other concerns that can negatively impact functioning; including depression, fear, anxiety, anger, grief, shame, guilt, and self-harming behaviors. My work at the Mental Health Association with victims of Superstorm Sandy has provided me with experience and insights in assisting those who have suffered sudden losses, relationship problems, as well as financial insecurity and worries about the future.

I hold a Certificate in Serving Veterans Behavioral Health from the Center for Deployment Psychology that has provided me with training in military culture and deployment-spectrum behavioral health concerns facing the military population. I am sensitive to the many barriers that Veterans, servicemembers, and military families face when seeking out mental health services. (See our Hope for Heroes and Services pages)

I am certified in LGBTQ+ Affirmative Psychotherapy. My practice is grounded in three core principles: Equality, Respect, and Affirmation. Practicing from an LGBTQ+ affirmative perspective, I celebrate the uniqueness of each of my clients and focus on their individual strengths. Embracing a positive view of LGBTQ+ folks and their identities and relationships, I endeavor to address the negative influences of homophobia, transphobia, heterosexism, etc. and the impact these factors may have had on my client’s lives. I provide support to adults, children, couples, and families throughout the life cycle in a warm, comfortable setting that celebrates individuality.

I have also earned the trust of crime victims, assisting them in managing the emotional impact of the crime.  For many victims of crime, the psychological wounds endure long after any physical wounds have healed. Victims of crime may suffer intense fear, shock, and terror in the course of their victimization, followed by feelings such as rage, anxiety, depression, social isolation, and helplessness.

Above all, my hope is to support you on your emotional healing journey.  With unconditional respect, I believe that we can explore, learn, and yes, laugh together to help you begin a new chapter.  If you are ready to turn the page, I am here to listen to your story ... "the rest is still unwritten."

I have lived in Monmouth County for over 40 years and support causes that protect our beautiful beaches and environment, the arts, animals, our communities, and the health and wellbeing of all those who live here. (See our Giving Back page under "more.") In my free time, I enjoy traveling, hiking, cycling, gardening, antiquing, spending time with my family and pets, and belting out a Broadway tune, no matter how out of key!
